Strength and Honor!

General Description

Way of the Sword is a guild of casual players who have banded together in an effort to enjoy the game with good people in a friendly atmosphere. Most players have careers and families, and several have known one another for years prior to playing World of Warcraft. The guild is based on Steamwheedle Cartel, a US Role-playing server. While the guild does not focus on role-playing, it respects those that do, and does not affiliate itself with groups or people who would disrupt such activities.

The guild supports both PvE and PvP play, though most members focus on content preparing for and related to small group (10-person) raiding. The guild has scheduled events, but does not enforce any attendance policy. Additionally, members are encouraged to create and manage events according to their schedules. This has allowed many people to gain experience playing several different classes and roles, as well as fostering a strong sense of teamwork and “guild-first” mentality among the membership.

Being able to talk to one another about subjects outside of the game, having fun while joking around or trying to finish an instance, and possessing the maturity to resolve differences and/or admit mistakes in a responsible manner are all important values shared by the members. Advancement through the ranks is based on commitment to the guild and its activities, not who somebody knows or what gear they might have.

Guild Glory of the Lich King Raider, achieved

Thanks to everyone who came last night to help with Shadowmourne & ICC 25. After I got myself killed on the Putricide fight we switched gears and knocked out a boatload of Wrath achievements for folks.

Highlight of the night for me was getting Malygos to 1 HP in phase 1, thus nullifying the challenge of phase 3. Cheesy

We're going to go back in ICC next week to try again to advance the legendary quest chain. The week after that we are going to head back to Outland...

Way of the Sword, Destroyer's End

/salute to the Progression raid team! We got Deathwing down on the fourth attempt of the evening. A nice tanky sword and a castery dagger dropped in addition to the 'here's your guaranteed epic gem' consolation prize.

Thanks to everyone for their dedication. We'll be continuing to farm Dragon Soul for a while just to make sure everyone gets the drops they want and we get the Legendary daggers for Celluvisc.

/Grats to the progression raid team. We managed to defeat the much more complex, normal version of the Spine of Deathwing (not to be confused with Raid Finder).

We now begin working on the Madness of Deathwing.

The progression raid team managed to down Warmaster Blackhorn. It was a significant hurdle, but we persevered and got him down after considerable effort - both tonight and in the preceding few weeks.

We have moved onto the Spine of Deathwing & are working on refining our strat.
